Alexander’s painting and sculpture offer a pristine slice of Southern California light, space, and culture that spark a feeling of ease, suavity, and cool through the elegant execution of materials such as resin or urethane, aluminum, ink, acrylic, and oil. He received his BA in 1965 and his MFA in 1966 from the University of California, Los Angeles. Major collections include the Metropolitan Museum, New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Getty Museum, Los Angeles. Alexander had his first Stremmel Gallery solo exhibition in July of 1988. He currently lives and works in Santa Monica.
